Nuclear Medicine Rooms, Altnagelvin Hospital

This project involved alterations to the existing Nuclear Medicine Department at Altnagelvin Hospital. Works consisted of alterations to the layout, provision of new finishes and fittings as well as M&E installations. Due to the nature of the facility great care had to be taken to ensure that the lead screening of the walls was completed to a high standard to ensure no leakage of radioactive materials was possible. Works were completed over 3 phases on an extremely restricted site to an extremely tight timescale. As there were patients and operating theatres adjacent to the working area, out of hours working was implemented to ensure that disruption to the hospital staff and patients was kept to a minimum.
